Digraphs & Blends

We have been doing a lot of -th, -sh and -ch word sorts in our reading small groups. We have also begun learning about blends and have been doing a lot of activities with them!

2D & 3D Shapes

       We are beginning math units on 2D and 3D Shapes this week!

               We discussed 2D shapes and made shape robots!

Dr Seuss

In honor of the upcoming birthday of Dr. Seuss, we decorated our door to look like the cover of his book, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish."

President's Day

I created a craft for the children to draw a picture of what they would look like if they were president and what they would do if they were president!

The students wrote things such as "I would give speeches to a lot of people" and "I would get to ride in a limo" :)

We also read books about past presidents like Abraham Lincoln as well as our current president Obama. We discussed what the president does and the importance of his job.

Valentine's Day!

                        We had a great Valentine's day today! We enjoyed some yummy treats

We also played Valentine sight word bingo!

We decorated Valentine pockets to put all of our Valentines in!

Adjectives

           We have started learning about adjectives and wrote down words to describe popcorn!




Measurement Unit

We have been learning about measurement and I created some new math centers for the kids in which they have to measure objects and record their findings. The children measure candy bars to determine which is the longest and which is the shortest:

100 things we have learned so far this year!

                    We made hats with 100 things on them that said, "I am 100 Days Smarter!"
