Halloween!

We had our class Halloween party on Friday afternoon. The kids loved getting to dress up in their costumes and parade around the school! Thank you to all of the parents that brought in cookies/cupcakes/candy etc!

Sentence Writing

We did a whole group sentence writing activity this morning. The sentence prompt was: "I go to__________."  I called on various students to come up and fill in the blank with a word (sounding it out on their own).

They did a great job sounding out words like "movies," "field trip," "zoo," "park," "Busch Gardens", "Chuck E  Cheese" and "the mall."

Pumpkins!

We drew pictures of how we were going to carve the pumpkins that we got on our field trip

and did some pumpkin math!

Farm Field Trip

We went on a field trip to Summers Farm today! We enjoyed lots of fun activities, a hayride, animals and even got to pick our own pumpkin to take home!

Sight Word Caterpillar

We have been learning one 'sight word' a week in Kindergarten so far this year. I have created a 'sight word caterpillar' to help the kids remember them! :)

Patterns

We have been learning all about patterns this week! We have read various pattern books and have used counters and cubes to create our own patterns.

Gingerbread Man

                                                                                          

We read and discussed the book "The Gingerbread Man" this week. We made character sticks and had fun retelling the story with a partner! We talked about the setting, sequence of events, characters and problem and solution. We also completed a worksheet in which the students drew what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story.
