Spring in Kindergarten!

Spring is finally here! We wrote about our favorite thing to do in spring and learned about rhyming words with the help of Dr. Seuss!

Plant Parts

We have been learning about plants this week in science! Today, we labeled the parts of a plant (stem, leaves, roots and flower).

Sorting!

Today, we learned about sorting in Math! We practiced sorting buttons and drew a picture of one way that we sorted.

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to be starting my 9th year of teaching Kinder! We are going to have a great year!

Presidents' Day!

We made books about Abe Lincoln and George Washington today to celebrate Presidents' Day! We also reviewed their contributions and ways in which we remember and honor them. 

Ladybug Addition!

We have been composing and decomposing numbers to 10 in math this week. We used dots on a ladybug today to show different ways to make 6 and 7!

All About Penguins!

We just completed a unit on penguins! We read various books about them and learned about their habitat, diet, predators etc. We loved learning about penguins!

Parts of a Plant

We are learning about plants this week in science and made a flower and labeled its parts!

Maps and Globes

We can identify land and water on a globe and map!

George Washington

We have been enjoying learning all about George Washington (his accomplishments and ways in which we honor and remember him) in Social Studies!

Fall is finally here and we have been learning about seasonal changes and things that happen in the season of autumn!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

We read the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and discussed uppercase and lowercase letters. We then counted the letters in our names and made them falling off of a coconut tree!

Equal Sets

We are working on counting and making equivalent sets in math this week!

I am so excited to be starting my 8th year of teaching Kindergarten! We are going to have a great school year together and learn a lot!

Writers Workshop

We have been busy writing stories! Here we are in groups of 3 sharing our work!

2D Shapes!

We have been learning about 2D shapes in Math and worked with our tables to sort pictures of various shapes today!

Winter

We have been learning all about winter holidays this week and are eagerly looking forward to winter break!

Writing

We have become super writers here in Kindergarten! We are busy writing each day and use our writing folder to help us remember our letters. It also reminds us that even when we think we are done, we have only just begun! :)

Landforms & Bodies of Water

We have been learning about landforms and bodies of water in social studies this week. We made a craft in which we labeled mountains, hills, plains, and water.
